Chocolate Pudding by Zarnak Sidhwa

Ingredients:
For Milk Chocolate Pastry Cream:
- Milk 3 cups
- Chopped milk chocolate 3 oz
- Chopped chocolate 1 oz
- Egg yolks 6
- Sugar 1/2 cup
- Corn flour 3 tbsp
Other Ingredients:
- Vanilla essence 1/2 tsp
- Chocolate wafer cookies 12 oz
- Bananas peeled 4
- Cream 2 cups
- Milk chocolate shavings for garnish
Method:
- Put milk in saucepan and simmer it.
- Whisk in both chocolates and heat until melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat.
- Whisk yolks, sugar and corn flour in bowl.
- Slowly whisk in chocolate milk mixture and put mixture in sauce pan over medium heat and whisk until thickened.
- Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and transfer to clean bowl.
- Put piece of plastic wrap directly over surface of pastry cream and let cool to room temperature.
- Spoon about 1 cup of pastry cream into flat glass dish.
- Layer wafer cookies, bananas and pastry cream in bowl, ending with pastry cream.
- Cover tightly and refrigerate until chilled, at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Spread whipped cream over top of pudding, sprinkle with chocolate savings and serve.
