Ingredients:
- Wheat 1/2 kg
- Beef 1 kg
- Yellow lentil boiled 1 cup
- Oil/Ghee 1 cup
- Onions 3
- All spice ground 1 tsp
- Turmeric 1 tsp
- Red chili powder 1 tbsp
- Soda bicarbonate 1/4 tsp
- Coriander ground 1-1/2 tbsp
- Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
For Bhagar & Garnish:
- Mint leaves 1 bunch
- Coriander leaves 1 bunch
- Ghee/Oil 2 cups
- Onions 2
- Lemons 4
- Green chilies finely chopped 6
- All spice 1 tbsp
- Roasted & ground cumin 1 tbsp
- Ginger finely chopped 2 tbsp
Method:
- Put beef, oil or ghee, ginger garlic paste, all spice powder, red chili powder, onion, turmeric, coriander and salt in pot and cook on low flame.
- Now boil wheat with enough water in separate pot.
- Also stir it.
- Then add soda bicarbonate in wheat.
- When wheat tender nicely, mix in meat and cook on low flame.
- When meat and wheat are mixed, add boiled & grinded yellow lentil with 2 cups water, stir it nicely and simmer it.
- Now put mint leaves, coriander leaves, green chilies, ginger and all spice.
- The more time it cooks, the more it will be delicious.
- Then heat oil or ghee in small pot, fry onion until brown, take it out and spread on paper.
- Then keep 4 lemon pieces, fried onion and hot ghee separate and serve with haleem.
Haleem is a Stew Dish. It is popular in Middle East, Central Asia, and the Indian Subcontinent. It is also popular in Pakistan. It is prepared with Wheat, Lentils & Meat. It can be served on Eid-ul-Adha.
