Yakhni Main Mash Ki Daal by Zubaida Tariq

Ingredients:

  • White lentils 1 cup
  • Mint leaves 1 cup
  • Oil 1 cup
  • Onions 2
  • Green chilies 3
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • All spice ground 1 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Butter 1 tbsp
  • Ginger chopped 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

For Stock:

  • Water 3 cups
  • Ginger 1 piece
  • Garlic 1 clove
  • Black pepper 4
  • Salt 1 pinch
  • Fennel seeds 1 tsp
  • Coriander seeds 1 tbsp

Method:

  1. Wash white lentils with lukewarm water and soak it.
  2. For stock: Put all ingredients in water, boil it slightly and strain it.
  3. Heat oil in pot, fry onion until golden brown and take it out.
  4. Then put ginger garlic paste, turmeric, red chili powder and all spice. roast it slightly and add white lentil.
  5. Now roast it slightly again, put stock and salt and cover it.
  6. When water of lentil dries, put mint leaves, few green chilies and few ginger.
  7. Then add butter and simmer it.
  8. Then add few mint leaves, few green chilies, few ginger and fried onion.
  9. Serve with hot chapati.

Yakhni Main Mash Ki Daal is new variety of daal recipe. Daal is cooked in stock. It is served with chapati or naan.
