Ingredients:

  • Green gram (moong daal) 1 cup
  • Rice 2 cup
  • Spinach 1/2 kg
  • Tomatoes 250 gm
  • Green chilies 6
  • Garlic cloves 6
  • Curry leaves 6
  • Black pepper 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Desiccated coconut 1/2 cup
  • Oil as required
  • Coriander leaves 1/2 bunch

Method:

  1. Heat oil and put garlic.
  2. Now put tomatoes, curry leaves, black pepper, cumin, salt and coconut and roast it.
  3. Then add spinach and green gram, cover it and cook for 10 minutes.
  4. Then put rice and put 1 cup water.
  5. When it boils, simmer it.
  6. Then put green chilies and coriander leaves and close stove.

Palak Chawal is delicious dish. It is new variety of rice. Rida Aftab has made it with her own recipe and you can try at home.
