Ingredients:
- Pigeon peas/Red gram 1 cup
- Salt to taste
- Button red chilies 8
- Green chilies (finely chopped) 6
- Turmeric 1 tsp
- Garlic (peeled & chopped) 6 cloves
- Raw mango finely chopped 1
- Ghee/Oil 1 cup
- Butter 2 tbsp
Method:
- Wash red gram with lukewarm water and soak it.
- Now take out its water, add fresh lukewarm water and cook it.
- Also put turmeric and stir in with wooden spoon.
- When daal tender, grind in blender, put again in pot, put green chilies, red chilies, salt and raw mango and cook it nicely.
- When daal and masalay are mixed, put butter.
- Before serve, heat daal, take out in bowl, heat ghee or oil, add garlic, fry until golden brown and put bhagar on daal.
- Then serve hot daal with plain rice.
Lakhnavi Daal is delicious & spicy. Butter gives rich flavor. It is prepared with Red gram and you must try this at home.
