Ingredients:
- Bottle gourd (peeled &cubed) half kg
- Moong beans 1/4 cup
- Yellow lentils 1/4 cup
- Green lentils 1/4 cup
- Black lentils 1/4 cup
- Ginger garlic paste 2 tsp
- Tamarind pulp 1/2 cup
- Salt 1/2 tsp
- Red chili powder 1 tsp
- Coriander seeds (roasted & ground) 2 tbsp
- Cumin (roasted & ground) 1 tbsp
- Button red chilies (roasted & ground) 8 – 10
- Turmeric 1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves 15 – 20
- Onions (chopped) 1 cup
- All spice 1/2 tsp
- Green chilies 4
- Coriander leaves 2 tbsp
Method:
- Soak all lentils for 1 hour.
- Now cook all lentils with turmeric in boiling water until it tender.
- Then soak coriander, cumin and button red chilies in 1 tbsp oil separate.
- Now take them put and grind together.
- Then heat 1/2 cup oil in pan, put curry leaves and onion and fry until golden.
- Now add ginger garlic paste and fry it more.
- Then put red chili powder, salt, bottle gourd, add 1 cup water, cover it and cook until bottle gourd tender.
- Now add boiled & blended lentils and cook until it is thick.
- Then put tamarind paste, grinded masalay, all spice and green chilies, cook for 10 minutes and serve it.
Lauki Wala Daalcha is Hyderabadi, Indian dish. It is a stew prepared with lentils, meat, bottle gourd and tamarind.
