Chicken Curry

Ingredients:

  • Chicken 1 kg

For Marinate:

  • Lemon juice 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1/2 tsp

For Curry:

  • Bay leaves 2
  • Cumin seed 1/2 tsp
  • Green cardamom 2
  • Cloves 3-4
  • Cinnamon 1 inch
  • Onion finely sliced 2
  • Garlic paste 2 tsp
  • Ginger 1 tsp
  • Fennel seeds 1 tsp
  • Tomato puree 3 tbsp
  • Red chili powder 1/2 tsp
  • Kashmiri chili powder 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Fenugreek leaves 1 tbsp
  • Oil or Ghee 2 tbsp

Method:

  1. Mix marinate ingredients and bowl.
  2. Add chicken pieces, rub marinate well over chicken pieces.
  3. Marinate chicken for 1 hour or so.
  4. For curry: Heat oil or ghee.
  5. Add bay leaves and cumin seed and lightly crushed cardamom, cloves and cinnamon.
  6. When they start sizzling, add onions.
  7. Add garlic, ginger paste and fennel seeds and mix well.
  8. When onion is brown, add tomato puree, both chili powders, coriander powder and fry till oil separates.
  9. Add marinated chicken, keep stirring and let chicken brown.
  10. Add water and cook till chicken is tender.
  11. Served with steamed rice.

Chicken Curry is delicious dish. It is common dish in Pakistan. Make it with some your variation. It is served with rice or naan & raita.
