Ingredients:
- Chickpeas (soaked overnight) 250 gm
- Soda bi carb 1 tsp
- Oil 1/2 cup
- Chopped onion 1
- Garlic paste 1 tsp
- Red chili powder 1 tbsp
- Roasted & ground coriander1 tbsp
- Roasted & ground cumin1 tsp
- Salt 1 tsp
For Bhagar:
- Cumin 1 tsp
- Mustard 1/2 tsp
- Onion seeds 1/2 tsp
- Fenugreek seeds 1/4 tsp
- Tamarind pulp 1/2 cup
- Coriander leaves 2 tbsp
- Chopped green chilies 2
Method:
- Heat oil, put cumin, mustard, onion seeds, fenugreek seeds, coriander leaves and green chilies.
- Now put onion in wok.
- Also add garlic paste, red chili powder, coriander, cumin and salt.
- Then put soaked chickpeas.
- Also add tamarind pulp and cook on low flame.
- Then garnish with coriander leaves and green chilies and serve.
Cholay is delicious & spicy dish. It is usually served in breakfast with halwa puri. It is easy & simple recipe to make.
