Ingredients:
- Masoor dal 250 gm
- Chopped tomatoes 2
- Turmeric 1/2 tsp
- Red chili powder 1 tsp
- Ginger garlic 1 tbsp
More Ingredients:
- Tamarind pulp 1/2 tsp
- Salt 1 tsp
- Green chilies 2
- Chopped coriander leaves 2 tbsp
- Curry leaves 10-12
For Bhagar:
- Oil 1/2 cup
- Crushed garlic 1 tbsp
- Whole red chilies 8
- White cumin1 tsp
- Mustard 1 tsp
- Curry leaves few
Method:
- Put dal with 2 cups water in pan.
- Now add tomatoes, turmeric, red chili powder and ginger garlic.
- Then put green chilies and coriander leaves.
- When dal is soft, blend in blender.
- Then put salt and tamarind pulp and cook for 10 minutes.
- Then give bhagar to dal, cook for 5 minutes and serve with boiled rice.
Khatti Dal is South Asian cuisine. The flavor of tamarind in sour (khatti). It is prepared with masoor dal & served with rice.
