Ingredients:

  • Mutton 1/2 kg
  • Boiled rice 1/2 kg

For Spice Bag:

  • Garlic cloves 10
  • Fennel 2 tbsp
  • Dry ginger 1 small piece
  • Onion 1
  • Bay leaves 2
  • Cinnamon 2
  • Nutmeg 1/2
  • Black cardamom 2
  • Cloves 10-12
  • Whole red chilies 20
  • Oil 1/2 cup
  • Oil 1/2 cup
  • Butter 2 tbsp
  • Salt 1-1/2 tsp

Method:

  1. Mix garlic, fennel, dry ginger, onion, bay leaves, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, cloves and red chilies and make potli.
  2. Now put mutton in pan, put potli, salt and 3 cups water and cook on low flame until meat tender and 2 cups gravy remains.
  3. Then squeeze potli and take it out.
  4. Boil rice with salt and drain its water.
  5. Now heat oil in pan, add 6 whole black peppers, meat and gravy and boil it.
  6. Then add boiled rice, mix it nicely, cook on low flame for 10 minutes and simmer it.

Akni is Memoni rice dish. It is prepared with mutton. It is easy recipe to make. Must try this dish.
