Ingredients:

  • Arhar daal 1 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Whole red chilies 8
  • Finely chopped green chilies 6
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Peeled & finely chopped garlic 6 cloves
  • Finely chopped keri 1
  • Ghee or Oil 1 cup
  • Butter 2 tbsp

Method:

  1. Wash daal with lukewarm water and soak it.
  2. Now take out water, add lentil in fresh lukewarm water and cook it.
  3. Also put turmeric and stir it.
  4. When daal tender, grind in blender, put again in pot, put green chilies, red chilies, salt and keri and cook it nicely.
  5. When daal and masala combines, put butter.
  6. Before serving, heat daal, take out in bowl, heat ghee or oil, add garlic, fry until golden brown and put bhagar on daal.
  7. Serve daal with plain rice.

Lakhnavi Daal is delicious dish. It is prepared with arhar lentil. Try it with your method. It is served with rice.
