Rava Dhokla

Ingredients:

  • Semolina 2 cups
  • Chopped ginger 1/2 inch
  • Chopped green chili 1
  • Yogurt 1 cup
  • Oil 1 tsp
  • Sugar 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric 1/4 tsp
  • Lemon juice 1 tbsp
  • Water as required
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Fruit salt 1 tsp

For Bhagar:

  • Mustard 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin 1/2 tsp
  • Sesame 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves 8-10
  • Oil 2 tbsp

For Garnish:

  • Coriander leaves 2 tbsp
  • Grated coconut 2 tbsp

Method:

  1. Mix semolina, ginger, green chilies, yogurt, oil, sugar, turmeric, lemon juice and water, make slightly thick batter and keep it aside for 15 minutes.
  2. Now grease pan with oil and fruit salt, put batter in pan and steam it for 20 minutes in steamer.
  3. Then take it out and cool it.
  4. Then heat oil and fry bhagar ingredients for few seconds.
  5. Now put on dhokla. garnish with coriander leaves and coconut and serve cold.

Rava Dhokla is Gujarat, Indian recipe. It is wonderful dish. It is prepared with semolina, steamed, garnished with coriander leaves & grated coconut and served warm or cold in pieces. It is served as breakfast, main course or side dish.
