Malai Kofta

Ingredients:

For Koftay:

  • Beef mince 1/2 kg
  • Finely chopped onion 1
  • Bread slices 2
  • Finely chopped green chilies 3
  • Cloves 4
  • Black pepper 4
  • Small cardamom 6
  • Finely chopped mint leaves 1/2 bunch
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves 1/2 bunch
  • Fresh cream 1/2 cup
  • White cumin 1 tsp
  • Finely chopped ginger 1 tbsp
  • Poppy seeds 1 tbsp
  • Roasted chickpeas 2 tbsp

For Gravy:

  • Yogurt 1 cup
  • Oil 1 bowl
  • Finely chopped green chilies 2
  • Finely chopped onion 3
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves 1/2 bunch
  • Fresh cream 1/2 packet
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • All spice powder 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. For koftay: Grind chickpeas, cumin, small cardamom, black pepper, poppy seeds and cloves finely.
  2. Now mix grinded masala in mince and chop in chopper.
  3. Then mix cream, mint leaves, coriander leaves, onion, ginger, green chilies and salt, knead it nicely and make small small koftay.
  4. For gravy: Heat oil in pan, fry onion until golden brown, take it out and spread on paper.
  5. When onion is crisp, crush with hands and mix in yogurt.
  6. Now mix red chili powder, ginger garlic paste, turmeric, all spice powder, coriander powder, salt and green chilies, put in pot and roast it slightly.
  7. Then spread fried koftay and do not stir it.
  8. When oil separates, add fresh cream and simmer it on low flame.
  9. Then put coriander leaves and serve hot with plain rice or chapati.

Malai Kofta is tasty dish. Kofta is prepared with beef mince & cooked with gravy and cream. You must try this kofta dish at home.
