Ingredients:

  • Surmai fish 1 kg
  • Yogurt 250 gm
  • Chopped onion 250 gm
  • Chopped cumin seeds 2 tsp
  • Lemon juice 4 tbsp
  • Small cardamom 4
  • Salt 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Oil 1/2 cup
  • Green chilies 50 gm
  • Coriander leaves few
  • All spice powder 1/2 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp

For Rice:

  • Boiled rice 1/2 kg
  • Curry leaves 6
  • Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  • Salt  1/2 tsp
  • Chopped tomatoes 1 cup
  • Oil 4 tbsp

Method:

  1. Put turmeric and lemon juice on fish and leave for 30 minutes.
  2. Now heat oil, put onion, cumin seeds, salt, all spice powder and ginger garlic paste.
  3. Then put green chilies in yogurt and grind it.
  4. Now add masalay, roast it nicely, put water and cook for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Then add fish pieces and cook more for 10 minutes.
  6. Then close stove and put coriander leaves.
  7. For rice: Heat oil, put curry leaves, turmeric and salt.
  8. When aroma comes, add chopped tomatoes.
  9. Then put boiled rice, mix it and simmer it for 10 minutes.
  10. Now serve fish with rice.
