Ingredients:

  • Milk 1-1/2 kg
  • Grated carrots 1/2 kg
  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Boiled rice 1/2 cup
  • Green cardamom powder 1 tsp
  • Almonds 2 tbsp
  • Pistachio 2 tbsp
  • Silver paper for garnish
  • Fresh balai 1 cup
  • Vanilla essence few drops

Method:

  1. Steam carrots little.
  2. Now cook milk.
  3. When it boils, add carrots and boiled rice and cook until rice and carrots tender.
  4. Then put sugar and cook until thick.
  5. Then add vanilla essence, saffron and cardamom powder.
  6. Now take out in serving bowl, garnish with balai, almonds, pistachios and silver paper and serve.

Gajrela is similar dish as gajar ka halwa. Boiled rice is added and garnished with balai. You must try this recipe.
