Ingredients:
- Guava 1 pound
- Sugar 4 oz
- Cinnamon 2
- Sour lime 1
- Cochineal (red color) if required
- Custard powder 2 tbsp
- Milk 10 oz or ½ pint
- Sugar 2 oz
Method:
- Peel thinly guavas and cut into two.
- Boil with one big cup of water in bowl, till seeds are
on point of coming out.
- Remove from flame.
- Let them cool, take out seeds with spoon and knife and
put again in same bowl.
- Do not throw away the liquid.
- Add sugar, lime juice and cinnamon, put onto bowl and
till they become soft.
- For Custard: Heat milk.
- Mix custard powder with little water and pour into hot
milk.
- Before this, add sugar into milk.
- Keep on stirring.
- After a little while, when it begins to thicken, take
off.
- Fruit should be served in a glass dish and custard in
a jug separately.
- When serve, pour
custard over fruit.
