Daal Bhindi

Ingredients:
- Coriander powder 1 tsp
- Red chili powder 1/4 tsp
- Turmeric 1/2 tsp
- Black pepper powder 1/4 tsp
- Fennel seeds powder 1/4 tsp
- All spice 1/4 tsp
- Oil 2 tbsp
- Okra (bhindi) 2 cups
- Onion slice 1
- Ginger 1 tsp
- Green chilies 3-4
- Coconut milk 1-1/2 cup
- Lemon juice 2 tbsp
- Tur daal (cooked) 1/2 cup
- Curry leaves few
- Salt to taste
Method:
- Heat oil, put okra, fry it slightly and keep it aside.
- Now fry onion in pan and add green chilies, ginger and curry leaves.
- Now put masalay and fry it.
- Now put 3/4 cup coconut milk and bring to boil.
- Then add daal, okra, salt and lemon.
- When gravy is thick, put remaining coconut milk and serve with hot rice.
Daal Bhindi is delicious dish. The combination of tur daal & okra (bhindi) and addition of coconut milk is amazing. Try this new dish and serve with rice or naan.
