Chanay Ki Daal Chawal

Ingredients:

  • Sela rice 1/2 kg
  • Chana daal 1 cup
  • Tomatoes 2
  • Tamarind paste 2-3 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • All spice powder 1 tsp
  • Crushed black pepper 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Oil 3-4 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. For rice: Clean rice, wash it and soak for 2-3 hours.
  2. Put water and salt in pot and boil it.
  3. Now add rice and prepare it.
  4. Then strain it and simmer it.
  5. For chana daal: Boil daal with turmeric, strain it and keep it aside.
  6. Then fry ginger garlic paste in pan.
  7. Now put tomatoes, salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, black pepper, all spice and cumin powder and cook until gravy is thick and daal is ready.
  8. Now put rice first on platter, put chana daal on top and serve.

Chanay Ki Daal Chawal is tasty dish. It is prepared with same method as of daal chawal, but with different daal.
