Lobia Chana Masala

Ingredients:

  • Red beans 1 cup
  • Kabuli chickpeas 1 cup
  • Masoor daal 1/2 cup
  • Tamarind pulp 1 cup
  • Tomato sauce 1 cup
  • Tomato puree 1/2 tin
  • Long finely chopped green chilies 8-10
  • Sweet sodas 1 tsp
  • Dry ginger 2 tbsp
  • Roasted & crushed cumin 1 tbsp
  • Chopped onion (like omelet) 2
  • Salt to taste
  • Lemon 2
  • Finely chopped mint leaves 1 bunch
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Crushed red chilies 1 tbsp

Method:

  1. Wash red beans with lukewarm water and soak it.
  2. Wash chickpeas with lukewarm water and soak it.
  3. Now drain water of beans, put lukewarm water again and cook it.
  4. When it tender nicely, remove it.
  5. Boil chickpeas like this.
  6. Also put daal and cook it.
  7. Chickpeas tender, put sweet soda.
  8. Now heat oil in big pot, put beans, fry it slightly and put tomato sauce, red chilies and salt.
  9. After 5 minutes, put chickpeas, tomato puree, dry ginger, cumin and tamarind pulp and cook on low flame.
  10. After 5 minutes, add green chilies and simmer it.
  11. Then put onion, mint leaves and lemon juice and serve.

Lobia Chana Masala is tasty & delicious dish. The combination of red beans, chickpeas and masoor daal is amazing. Must try this new dish for change.
