Ingredients:
- White turnip 1/2 kg
- Mutton 1/2 kg
- Finely chopped onion 2
- Lemons 3
- Finely chopped green chilies 4
- Finely chopped coriander leaves 1 bunch
- Oil 1 cup
- Yogurt 1/2 cup
- Sugar 1 tsp
- Turmeric 1 tsp
- Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
- Red chili powder 1 tbsp
- Coriander powder 2 tsp
- All spice as required
- Salt to taste
Method:
- Put mutton, onion, turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, ginger garlic paste, salt and hot water in pot and cook it.
- Now peel turnip, cut into 2 pieces, heat oil in separate pan, fry it slightly and keep it.
- When meat tender, add yogurt, turnip and sugar, roast it little and put 2 cups hot water.
- When turnip tender, add all spice and lemon juice and simmer it.
- When oil comes up, put coriander leaves, green chilies and lemon juice.
- Serve it with hot hot naan.
Shaljam Gosht is tasty dish. It is prepared with turnip and mutton. Served with hot naan and raita.
