Ginger Snap Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Treacle (lyle’s golden syrup) 1 cup
  • Butter 1/2 cup
  • Flour 3-1/2 cups
  • Bicarbonate soda 1/2 tsp
  • Ground ginger 2 tbsp (1 will also do)

Method:

  1. Take one cup of syrup and boil it.
  2. Then add butter in it and stir it till it dissolves.
  3. Sieve (to sift) flour and put ginger, soda and sugar in it.
  4. Add all these dry ingredients in bowl of syrup and knead (to turn flour into dough) it. Do not put water.
  5. Then roll and cut into shape.
  6. It requires moderately hot oven and takes 10 to 15 minutes to bake.
  7. Keep them separate, as they swell a little.
