Pita Bread

Ingredients:

  • Flour 1/2 kg
  • Yeast 1-1/2 tbsp
  • Baking powder 2 tbsp
  • Sugar 1 tsp
  • Egg 1
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Put yeast and sugar in lukewarm water and mix until both are mixed nicely.
  2. Then leave it for khameeri.
  3. When it is khameeri, add in flour.
  4. Then add salt, egg and baking powder and knead it.
  5. Then put in bowl, wrap in plastic and leave in warm place for 3-4 hours.
  6. Now fold dough with hands.
  7. Make small balls and roll like thick roti.
  8. Now grease oven try with oil, set roti on tray and bake in preheated oven on 200 degrees C for 10 minutes.
  9. Then take it out from oven.
  10. Pita bread is ready.

Pita Bread is used for preparing shawarma. You can make it at home easily instead from buying outside.
