Californian Pound Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Soft butter 8 oz
  • Shortening 1/2 cup
  • Sugar 3 cups
  • Eggs 5
  • Grated lemon rind 1 tsp
  • Lemon essence 1 tsp
  • Maida 3 cups
  • Baking powder 1 tsp
  • Milk 1 cup

For Frosting:

  • Soft butter 3 oz
  • Icing sugar 1-3/4 cups
  • Lemon juice 2 tbsp
  • Grated lemon rind 1 tsp

Method:

  1. Beat butter, shortening and sugar in big bowl for 5 minutes.
  2. Now add eggs one by one.
  3. Then put lemon rind, lemon essence, maida, salt and baking powder and mix it.
  4. Then add more butter and milk one by one and beat it.
  5. Now put mixture in greased 10 inch fluted tube pan and bake on 180 degrees C for 1 hour.
  6. Then take out cake and cool it.
  7. Mix all ingredients of frosting and put on cake.

Californian Pound Cake is amazing cake. It is prepared with common cake ingredients. Lemon rind is also used. Baked and topped with frosting.
