Rajma Masala Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Red kidney beans 500 gm
  • Salt to taste
  • Garlic chopped 4-5 cloves
  • Ginger chopped 1/2 tsp
  • Green chilies 1-2

For Tempering:

  • Oil 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 2
  • Cloves 1 cup
  • Black cardamom 4 cups
  • Onion chopped 2 tsp
  • Chopped garlic 1 tsp
  • Ginger chopped 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Salt 1/2 tsp
  • Tomatoes chopped 2
  • Sugar 1 pinch
  • Coriander leaves handful
  • Green chili 1
  • Butter 1 tbsp
  • Curd 3 tbsp

Direction:

  1. Soak beans overnight and pressure cooker it.
  2. Mix boiled beans, water, garlic, ginger, green chili and salt in pan and boil it.
  3. Heat oil, add cumin seeds, cloves and black cardamom.
  4. Saute till they crackle.
  5. Now add onion and saute till brown.
  6. Add ginger and garlic.
  7. Now add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder and salt.
  8. Add little water and tomatoes.
  9. Add sugar, let tomato cook and add green chilies and coriander leaves.
  10. Add this to beans and mix it.
  11. Add butter and curd.
  12. Mix it nicely with beans.

Rajma Masala is healthy dish. Red kidney beans is boiled with vegetables. Then mixed with spices, curd & butter and served.
