Madras Sambal Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Masoor daal 1 cup
  • Water 2-1/2 cups
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Potato chunks 2
  • Mustard 1/2 tsp
  • Fenugreek 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves 4
  • Onion slice 1
  • Red chili powder as required
  • Salt to taste
  • Lemon juice 1 tbsp
  • Coconut as required
  • Coriander leaves for garnish

Direction:

  1. Boil daal, put water, red chili powder and turmeric and cook until soft.
  2. Now boil potato and keep it aside.
  3. Then cook onion until golden.
  4. Now dry daal and mix potato mixture.
  5. Then put salt and lemon juice and simmer it for 2 minutes.
  6. Then garnish with coconut and coriander leaves and serve.

Madras Sambal is tasty dish. Masoor daal is boiled and mixed with boiled potatoes. Garnished with coconut & coriander leaves and served.
