Malwani Dry Chicken Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Boneless Chicken 1/2 kg
  • Chopped Onions 4
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Ginger paste 2 tbsp
  • Garlic paste 2 tbsp
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • water as required

Ingredients for Masla Paste:

  • Grated coconut 1 cup
  • Whole red chilies 2
  • Garlic 5-6 cloves
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Coriander seed 1 tbsp
  • Green Chilies 2
  • Coriander Leaves 1/2 cup
  • Malwani masala 2 tbsp
  • Water as required
  • Red chilies 12
  • Coriander seeds 2 tsp
  • Cloves 4-5
  • Black peppercorns 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Green cardamoms 4-5
  • Black cardamoms 2-3
  • Dry coconut, grated 1/2 cup
  • Poppy seeds 1 tsp

Direction

  1. For Masala grind all Malwani masala ingredients and set aside Method for Masala Paste:
  2. In a pan, roast the grated coconut and whole red chilies.
  3. Grind this roasted mixture with garlic, cumin seeds, roasted coriander seeds and water.
  4. Now add green chilies, chopped coriander, Malwani masala and a little more water.
  5. heat the oil in a pan and to it add ginger and garlic paste, chopped onions and cook for a while when the onion turn translucent.
  6. Add turmeric, salt and cook for a few minutes. Add the chicken to the pan, mix it well and then add the masala paste.
  7. Cook for 15-2- minutes or the chicken has cooked through and is well coated in the masala.
