Pani Puri is popular street snack food in India and Pakistan. You can make at home easily. You can add more ingredients or make chutney.

Ingredients:

For Puri:

  • Semolina 2 cup
  • Maida 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for fry

For Pani:

  • Tamarind paste 1 cup
  • Roasted & crushed cumin 1 tbsp
  • Water 1 jug
  • Dry ginger 1 tsp
  • Black salt 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp

For Filling:

  • Chickpeas boiled 1 cup
  • Potatoes cubes 2-3
  • Yogurt beaten 2 cups

Direction:

  1. For puri: Mix semolina, maida, salt and 2 tbsp oil nicely and knead hard dough with water.
  2. Then cover it with muslin cloth and leave in warm place for 30 minutes.
  3. Then make small balls and roll it.
  4. Then heat oil in pan, put puri, press slightly with spoon in center so that it rises and fry until light brown and crispy.
  5. Then remove from stove and cool it completely.
  6. For pani: Boil water in pot.
  7. Then put remaining ingredients and cook for 10 minutes.
  8. Then remove from stove, strain it and keep in fridge.
  9. For filling: Mix potatoes and chickpeas nicely.
  10. For assemble: Put filling in puri.
  11. Then put yogurt and pani and serve.

Pani Puri is spicy and crispy snack dish. Puri is prepared with semolina & maida, kneaded and fried. Pani is prepared with tamarind paste, water & spices, cooked, strained and chilled. Puri is filled with chickpeas, potatoes, yogurt & pani and served.
