Pani Puri Recipe

Pani Puri is popular street snack food in India and Pakistan. You can make at home easily. You can add more ingredients or make chutney.
Ingredients:
For Puri:
- Semolina 2 cup
- Maida 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil for fry
For Pani:
- Tamarind paste 1 cup
- Roasted & crushed cumin 1 tbsp
- Water 1 jug
- Dry ginger 1 tsp
- Black salt 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Red chili powder 1 tbsp
For Filling:
- Chickpeas boiled 1 cup
- Potatoes cubes 2-3
- Yogurt beaten 2 cups
Direction:
- For puri: Mix semolina, maida, salt and 2 tbsp oil nicely and knead hard dough with water.
- Then cover it with muslin cloth and leave in warm place for 30 minutes.
- Then make small balls and roll it.
- Then heat oil in pan, put puri, press slightly with spoon in center so that it rises and fry until light brown and crispy.
- Then remove from stove and cool it completely.
- For pani: Boil water in pot.
- Then put remaining ingredients and cook for 10 minutes.
- Then remove from stove, strain it and keep in fridge.
- For filling: Mix potatoes and chickpeas nicely.
- For assemble: Put filling in puri.
- Then put yogurt and pani and serve.
Pani Puri is spicy and crispy snack dish. Puri is prepared with semolina & maida, kneaded and fried. Pani is prepared with tamarind paste, water & spices, cooked, strained and chilled. Puri is filled with chickpeas, potatoes, yogurt & pani and served.
