Punjabi Samosa Recipe

Punjabi Samosa is crispy and tasty samosa. You must try this different samosa recipe at home.

Ingredients:

For Dough:

  • Maida 500 gram
  • Carom seeds 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil 5 tbsp
  • Water to knead

For Filling:

  • Potatoes 500 gram
  • Boiled peas 1 cup
  • Onion chopped 1
  • Green chilies chopped 2-3
  • Coriander leaves chopped 1/2 bunch
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • All spice powder 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1/2 tsp
  • Fennel seeds 1 tsp
  • Ginger paste 1 tsp
  • Garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Lemon juice 1/2
  • Oil as required
  • Green chutney to serve
  • Tomato ketchup to serve
  • Chili garlic sauce to serve

For Green Chutney:

  • Coriander leaves chopped 2 cups
  • Mint leaves chopped 1 cup
  • Green chilies chopped 6
  • Onions chopped 1 medium
  • Lemon juice 1/2
  • Sugar 1 tbsp
  • Salt 1 tsp

Direction:

  1. For dough: Mix salt, oil and carom seeds in maida nicely.
  2. Then add water and knead hard dough.
  3. Then cover it with wet cloth and keep it aside for 10-15 minutes.
  4. For filling: Boil potatoes, peel it and mash it with fork.
  5. Then heat oil in pan and sauté cumin seeds and fennel seeds.
  6. Then add onion and fry for few minutes.
  7. Then add ginger paste and garlic paste and fry for 1 minute.
  8. Then put all spice powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder and peas and fry little bit until peas are soft.
  9. Then add potatoes, salt, coriander leaves, green chilies and lemon juice and mix it.
  10. Then make balls of dough and roll it thin like roti.
  11. Then cut from center and form it in triangle shape sealing edges together with water.
  12. Then put potatoes filling and seal it with water.
  13. Make remaining samosay like this.
  14. Then heat oil in wok and deep fry samosay until golden brown on medium flame.
  15. Then take out in tissue paper so that it absorbs oil.
  16. Then take out in plate and serve with green chutney, or tomato ketchup or chili garlic sauce or any sauce of your choice.
  17. For green chutney: Put all ingredients in blender and blend until paste.

Punjabi Samosa is tasty samosa. Spices are fried and mixed with boiled & mashed potatoes, boiled peas, green chilies & coriander leaves. Then filled in maida & carom seeds dough. Then deep fried and serve with any sauce or chutney of your choice.
