Sweet and Sour Prawns Recipe

Sweet and Sour Prawn is traditional Chinese recipe. You must try this recipe at home.
Ingredients:
- Prawns 1 kg
- Soya sauce 2 tbsp
- Ginger paste 1 tsp
- Garlic paste 1 tsp
- All-purpose flour 1 cup
- Corn flour 1 cup
- Salt 1/2 tsp
- Baking powder 1/2 tsp
- Cold water 2 cup
- Oil as required
For Sweet n Sour Sauce:
- Crushed garlic 2 tsp
- Crushed ginger 2 tsp
- Tomato ketchup 2 cup
- Red chili powder 1 tsp
- White pepper powder 1 tsp
- White vinegar 4 tbsp
- Soya sauce 2 tbsp
- Sugar 2 tbsp
- Chicken stock 2 cups
- Corn flour 4 tbsp
- Carrot chopped 1
- Capsicum cubes 1
- Onion cubes 1
- Ginger grated 1/2 tsp
- Tomato cubes 1
- Oil 2 tbsp
Direction:
- Clean prawns and wash it nicely.
- Then put soya sauce, ginger paste, garlic paste, all-purpose flour, corn flour, salt, baking powder and cold water in mixing bowl and mix it nicely to form batter.
- Then heat oil in wok on medium flame.
- Then dip each prawn in batter, put in hot oil and deep fry until golden brown.
- For sweet n sour sauce: Heat oil in wok and sauté ginger and garlic.
- Then add tomato ketchup, red chili powder and sugar and cook it stirring occasionally.
- Now add chicken stock, white pepper, white vinegar, soya sauce and bring to boil.
- Then mix corn flour with little water, put in sauce little at a time and cook until desired consistency.
- Then heat oil in pan, add capsicum, tomato, onion and carrot and cook for few minutes on low flame.
- Then put fried prawns and vegetables in sauce and mix it.
- Then take out in serving bowl and serve hot with rice.
Sweet and Sour Prawns is tasty dish. Prawns are dipped in all-purpose flour mixture and deep fried. Then mixed with fried vegetables & sweet n sour sauce. Served hot with cooked rice.
