Ingredients:
Base:
- ¾ Tbsp yeast
- ½ cup lukewarm water
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1tsp salt
- 2 tsp butter
- 1 ½ cup flour
Topping:
- 1 tsp oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, mashed fry a little
- ¾ cup tomato puree
- ¼ tsp chilli powder
- Pinch oregano
- 1 cup fried mushrooms
- ½ cup chopped capsicums
- ½ cup grated cheese
Method:
For Base:
- Sprinkle yeast over lukewarm water and leave till frothy.
- Add sugar, salt and butter in the water.
- Then beat in the flour.
- Knead well the mixture, form dough into a ball and place in a bowl greased with butter.
- Cover the bowl with wet cloth or plastic sheet and leave to rise for 1 hour.
- Grease a 9” flat baking tray with butter. Stretch the dough to fit the tray and brush lightly with oil.
For Topping:
- Heat 1 tsp oil.
- Add onion, garlic and tomato puree and cook for 2 minutes.
- Let it cool and then add chilli powder and oregano.
- Spread the prepared puree on the dough. Cover with mushrooms, capsicums and top it with grated cheese.
- Bake at 180 C for 20 minutes till crisp.
- Serve hot.
