Ingredients:

  • 2 cup flour, whole wheat
  • 1 1/2 cup peas; boiled & mashed
  • 2 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 cup mint, fresh; or coriander leaves
  • 2 tablespoon ghee; or oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper water for kneading
  • 1 ghee; or oil for frying

Method:

  1. Sift whole wheat flour with salt. Rub in 2 tbsp ghee or oil. Add mashed peas. Mix thoroughly.
  2. Add pepper, coriander or mint with lime juice. Knead well.
  3. Divide into 8 equal portions. Shape them into round balls.
  4. Roll each ball on a floured board into a circle. 5" (12 cm) diameter.
  5.  Lift each roti carefully with floured hands. Place on a hot griddle one at a time.
  6. Shallow fry with 1 or 2 tbsp ghee or oil until both sides are well cooked.
  7. Serve hot.

An easy to make and delicious to eat meal
